Project Mine
Akame Ga Kill has been my largest inspiration, with the show leaving a deep, long-lasting impact on me. Despite its flaws and many other people’s gripes about the show and its darkness, it is by far my favorite series.
The cruel and unforgiving world that it takes place in initially leaves the reader/viewer with a depressing, bleak outlook. However, after meeting the main cast, one can’t help but feel hopeful for the future of their world. Watching them all grow to be a family, fight for the sake of freedom, and live through loss; these are some of the things you can expect to experience when immersing yourself into the story.
In short, I like the show a lot.
And because I like the show so much, I decided to start this project after drawing a few random fan art illustrations of Mine, the tritagonist character (third main character in order of importance) in Akame Ga Kill.
This is my first large-scale project, which will follow a segment of an episode from the show. The objective of the project is to redraw parts of a fight scene in slideshow format, properly following the sequence of events. The final product will consist of around 80 or so pieces (may decrease amount and skip many redundant frames) put into chronological order for the best viewing experience.
Currently, there are other illustrations of the character Mine on this page. They will be removed once the project has progressed.
As a warning, the slideshow itself is a big spoiler due to the scene that I chose.
